چکیده

Existence of collective effects in magnetic coupling in ionic solids is studied by mapping spin eigenstates of the Heisenberg and exact nonrelativistic Hamiltonians on cluster models representing KNiF3, K2NiF4, NiO, and La2CuO4. Ab initio techniques are used to estimate the Heisenberg constant J . For clusters with two magnetic centers, the values obtained are about the same for models having more magnetic centers. The absence of collective effects in J strongly suggests that magnetic interactions in this kind of ionic solids are genuinely local and entangle only the two magnetic centers involved. @S0163-1829~97!04634-1#

Electronic correlation and magnetism in multi-band Kondo lattice model

We propose a self-consistent approximate solution of the disordered Kondo-lattice model (KLM) to get the interconnected electronic and magnetic properties of ’local-moment’ systems like diluted ferromagnetic semiconductors. Aiming at (A1−xMx) compounds, where magnetic (M) and non-magnetic (A) atoms are distributed randomly over a crystal lattice, we present a theory which treats the subsystems ...

CYTOGENETIC EFFECTS OF MAGNETIC AND RADIOFREQUENCY FIEL DS OF NMRI SYSTEMS ON THE FREQUENCY OF CHROMOSOMAL ABERRATIONS INHUMAN LYMPHOCYTES IN THE PRESENCE OR ABSENCE OF CYTOSINE ARABINOSIDE

Application of nuclear magnetic resonance imaging (NMRI) as a non-invasive and accurate imaging procedure has been widely used in recent years. Meanwhile, the biological effects of magnetic fields of several tesla (T) and high energy radiofrequency (RF) is not fully known yet. Because of controversy over this issue, the present research has been carried out in order to verify the effects of...

Disparate ultrafast dynamics of itinerant and localized magnetic moments in gadolinium metal

The Heisenberg-Dirac intra-atomic exchange coupling is responsible for the formation of the atomic spin moment and thus the strongest interaction in magnetism. Therefore, it is generally assumed that intra-atomic exchange leads to a quasi-instantaneous aligning process in the magnetic moment dynamics of spins in separate, on-site atomic orbitals. Following ultrashort optical excitation of gadol...

Heisenberg Hamiltonian description of multiple-sublattice itinerant-electron systems: General considerations and applications to NiMnSb and MnAs

We consider magnetic systems where the magnetic sublattices can be unambiguously separated into sublattices of inducing and induced moments. The concrete numerical calculations are performed for half-metallic ferromagnetic Heusler compound NiMnSb and hexagonal phase of MnAs. In both systems, Mn atoms possess a robust atomic moment that is much larger than the induced moments of other atoms. It ...

Collective T- and P-odd electromagnetic moments in nuclei with octupole deformations.

Parity and time invariance violating forces produce collective Pand Todd moments in nuclei with static octupole deformation. Collective Schiff moment, electric octupole and dipole and also magnetic quadrupole appear due to the mixing of rotational levels of opposite parity and can exceed singleparticle moments by more than a factor of 100. This enhancement is due to two factors, the collective ...
